United South Sudanese Women of Alaska

Founded in 2017, the United Nuer Women of Alaska is a group of South Sudanese women working together to make a positive impact in their community.  Since its inception the United Nuer Women of Alaska have established the following priorities to work on through advocacy, peer to peer education and community engagement:

  1. Parenting
  2. Education
  3. Housing
  4. Public and Community Resources

These women have powerful stories about their experiences as refugees and immigrants to the United States and making Anchorage their home.  The United Nuer Women of Alaska look forward to working with Anchorage to promote the wellbeing off all its residents.  Learn more about this amazing group at Tradition Tuesday on February 14th, 2017 from 6:30-7:30pm at the Loussac Library on the 4th floor in the Innovation Lab.
